Nationwide, Workers’ $3.8 Million Wage Deal Wins Final Approval

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. and claims adjusters who say it stiffed them on overtime and leave payouts secured final court approval for a $3.8 million settlement.

The net settlement fund provides more than $2.1 million, or approximately 64% of the maximum potential damages at trial, for nearly 1,300 workers in the two subclasses, the US District Court for the Eastern District of California said. The remainder goes to attorneys’ fees, court costs, and other expenses.
