Maryland Paid Family, Medical Leave Bill Advances to Governor

Maryland workers would get up to 12 weeks annually of paid time off for covered medical, parenting, and other family needs under a bill that state lawmakers have sent to Gov. Larry Hogan.

If enacted, the measure would make Maryland the 10th state plus the District of Columbia to pass a paid family and medical leave program that covers private-sector workers, a list that Delaware also could join this year.
