Labor Department Delays H-1B Wage Rule, Seeks More Comments

A midnight rule from the Trump administration that would have raised wage rates for specialty occupation visa holders will be put on hold before it takes effect.

The Labor Department’s H-1B prevailing wage rule won’t go into effect until May 14, 60 days after its original effective date of March 15. The delay is part of the agency’s compliance with President Joe Biden’s Jan. 20 directive to freeze regulations for review, according to a notice released Wednesday by the DOL’s Employment and Training Administration.
