Labor Department Delaying Trump H-1B Wage Rule Date to 2022

The U.S. Labor Department is proposing to further delay a midnight rule from the Trump administration that would raise wage rates for specialty occupation visa workers.

The agency in a notice Thursday said that the rule’s effective date will be delayed another 18 months, to Nov. 22, 2022, to give the DOL’s Employment and Training Administration “a sufficient amount of time to thoroughly consider the legal and policy issues raised in the rule.”
