Kohl’s to Pay $2.9 Million to End Assistant Managers’ Wage Suit

Kohl’s Department Stores Inc. agreed to pay $2.9 million to end a consolidated Fair Labor Standards Act collective action involving nearly 900 assistant store managers who sued for unpaid overtime, according to a motion for settlement approval filed in a federal court in Wisconsin.

The proposed deal allocates about $1.77 million to the FLSA collective members, roughly $1 million in attorneys’ fees and costs, and $43,000 for claims administration costs.

If approved, the deal would resolve lawsuits brought by Stacy Collins under the FLSA, Jenna Graziano under New York law, and and Tony Jimenez under Massachusetts law. The court ...
