The US Supreme Court declined to consider whether Washington state’s paid sick leave law should apply to flight crews who cross state lines.
The justices on Thursday turned down a challenge from Airlines for America, the industry’s main trade group, that the sick leave law is preempted by the Airline Deregulation Act. The US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, in an unpublished ruling, said that the state law should apply to airline employees.
