A federal judge denied a request by a Minnesota immigration law firm and legal services provider to halt an alleged Trump administration policy to fast-track deportation proceedings for Somali immigrants.
The plaintiffs alleged in a March lawsuit that the Department of Justice’s Executive Office for Immigration Review has unlawfully adopted a policy in immigration courts to accelerate proceedings for Somali nationals making it impossible to win relief from deportation.
