Republican appropriators in the House would dramatically cut the US Department of Labor’s budget by 29% in their funding proposalreleased Thursday.
The DOL would receive $9.8 billion in discretionary appropriations in fiscal year 2024, a $4 billion cut to the current funding level under the bill. President Joe Biden had asked for $15.1 billion for the DOL in his budget request.
