Hospital Prematurely Ignored Union Obligations, Labor Board Says

A company that operates hospitals in the Kansas City area illegally failed to comply with its legal and contractual obligations to a union after workers voted to eject that union but before the election results were certified, the National Labor Relations Board ruled.

Midwest Division-RMC LLC prematurely stopped recognizing a Service Employees International Union affiliate as the bargaining representative for its service and maintenance workers and technical employees, the NLRB held Wednesday.
