A Kansas City, Mo., hospital illegally stopped recognizing and bargaining with the workers’ union before the employees voted to oust the labor organization, a National Labor Relations Board judge ruled.
NLRB Administrative Law Judge Christine Dibble said in her decision Tuesday that Research Medical Center broke federal labor law when it withdrew recognition from the Service Employees International Union local representing the center’s maintenance staff more than a year before the union’s decertification election was finalized.
