The US Supreme Court rejected a Massachusetts intellectual property lawyer’s bid to probe the legality of the California bar exam, which he say discriminates against lawyers over age 40.
The justices on Tuesday declined to review a California Supreme Court’s refusal to intervene in an age bias lawsuit from Matthew Flinders, a 52-year old attorney who in 2019 and 2020 failed the California Bar. The test is widely considered to be one of the most difficult state bar exams in the US.
