The California Supreme Court without comment rejected a request to intervene in a lawsuit from an attorney who alleges the state bar discriminates against lawyers over age 40.
Matthew Flinders, a 52-year-old intellectual property lawyer licensed in Massachusetts who twice failed the California Bar, claims the notoriously difficult exam is scored in an age-discriminatory manner. The court declined to issue a writ to the bar.
