Ashley Romanias, former head of the Department of Labor’s contractor anti-bias office, will join the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation as chief-of-staff to its director, a PBGC spokesperson confirmed.
Romanias announced in an email to staff on Friday that she would be leaving the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs where she has served as director. She’s the second leader to exit the DOL office during Trump’s second term.
The DOL agency’s longstanding mandate to monitor federal contractors for race and sex bias was eliminated by President Donald Trump in early 2025, and the administration seeks to defund the agency.
