EEOC Taps Ex-Labor Department Official as Acting General Counsel

The Trump appointee who oversaw the gutting of the Labor Department’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs is now serving as acting general counsel of the EEOC, according to the commission’s website.

Catherine Eschbach told OFCCP staff in September she was leaving to serve as Equal Employment Opportunity Commission principal deputy general counsel. She has now been listed online as the EEOC’s acting top lawyer, while the new nominee to take the permanent general counsel post Carter Crow, awaits Senate confirmation.
