EEOC Chair Extends Mediation Pilot Program for Bias Claims

A temporary pilot program focused on resolving workplace bias allegations through mediation will be extended, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission announced.

Spearheaded by Republican Chair Janet Dhillon, the pilot program will extend through Sept. 30, 2021. It originally was slated to run for six months, when it was announced in July.

Dhillon has shown a preference for alternative resolution methods to litigation during her tenure as agency head. In addition to the mediation pilot, Dhillon also initiated a temporary conciliation pilot program in June.
