EEOC Cancels Public Meeting on Religious Bias Guidance

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission canceled a public meeting that would have focused on updates to its guidance on religious discrimination. This is the second meeting the commission canceled this week.

The workplace civil rights agency was slated to vote on the guidance on Friday, its first update to the document since 2008. The proposed guidance included U.S. Supreme Court decisions from the last 13 years. The guidance touched on the clash between religious liberties and anti-discrimination laws, it didn’t explicitly clarify which could eclipse the other in certain situations.
