Cloudera’s Foreign Worker Sponsorship Halted by Labor Agency

The Department of Labor has suspended a Santa Clara, Calif. software firm from a program to sponsor foreign workers for employment-based green cards over allegations it discriminated against US-born workers, the agency announced Tuesday.

Cloudera Inc. was hit with a Department of Justice administrative complaint last month for failing to make good faith recruitment of US workers through the permanent labor certification, or PERM, program in violation of the Immigration and Nationality Act. Employers must clear that labor market test at DOL before they can petition for an immigrant worker.
