Canon USA Settles Sex Harassment Claims With Former Executive

Canon U.S.A. Inc. has reached an agreement with a former executive to voluntarily dismiss her claims of on-the-job sexual harassment and a lackluster HR inquiry after her complaints.

Canon filed the requested stipulation of dismissal on Jan. 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. The filing follows an October mediation session during which Canon and plaintiff Frances Cicogna settled her claims.

Cicogna filed her lawsuit in March 2018, alleging her direct supervisor sent inappropriate text messages and coerced her into a sexual relationship. She first sued as a Jane Doe, but the court ...
