Canon Brushed Off Sex Harassment Claims, Accuser Says in Lawsuit

A former Canon U.S.A. employee says that her supervisor sexually harassed her for more than a year and coerced her into sexual contact, according to a complaint filed March 20 by “Jane Doe” in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Canon’s HR department “ignored this #MeToo moment” when the woman reported the harassment in November 2016, the complaint says. The department “performed a slow, inadequate and retaliatory investigation” because it did not take her account seriously, she alleges.
