A Senate panel has advanced EEOC Chair Charlotte Burrows’ nomination for a third five-year term, a major step forward for the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on the path to retaining its Democratic majority.
The US Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee approved Burrows on a narrow 11-10 vote Wednesday, teeing up the Democratic chair for a full Senate floor vote.
