A Senate committee approved Boeing Co. chief labor counsel Scott Mayer to join the National Labor Relations Board, though he continues to lag behind two other nominees to the agency.
The Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee endorsed Mayer on Wednesday, nearly two months after it advanced James Murphy, a longtime NLRB staffer who came out of retirement to become a board member, and the agency’s general counsel nominee, Crystal Carey, a management-side attorney at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP.
