U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services said it will waive biometric requirements for 24 months for certain visa holders as part of its efforts to alleviate processing backlogs that sparked litigation.
Thursday’s alert makes official plans the government previewed in court documents last week. Starting May 17, the agency will temporarily suspend finger-printing requirements for H-4 spouses of H-1B specialty occupation visa holders, L-2 spouses of L visa intracompany transferees, and some employment green card applicants filing Form I-539 extension of stay or change of status applications.
