USCIS Will Waive Biometric Requirement for Spousal Visa Renewal

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services said that as early as May 17 it will no long require H-4 and L-2 spousal visa applicants to submit biometric data as part of the process of renewing their status and work authorization, according to court filings.

The change in policy, which will remain in effect for 24 months, is part of the “robust measures” the agency is taking to address the “unprecedented backlog of cases” for people filing Form I-539 petitions to extend or change their status, Connie L.
