January Funding Sprint Awaits Congress

Lawmakers were eager to make headway into government funding at the start of this month, but now that they’ve left town for the holidays until after the new year, they don’t have much to show for.

Their lack of progress over the past month has set up appropriators for a January funding sprint where they have the monumental task ahead of them to pass the nine remaining full-year funding bills by the Jan. 30 funding deadline.
