An American Civil Liberties Union branch is seeking to intervene in a lawsuit after the EEOC told a federal court it’s withdrawing claims that a Culver’s restaurant in Michigan illegally fired a transgender worker and two co-workers after they reported workplace discrimination and harassment.
ACLU Michigan asked Thursday for permission to litigate discrimination and retaliation claims that the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission initially brought in October before the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan against the owners of several Culver’s fast-casual restaurants to seek damages and other relief for workers.
