Covid Contact-Tracing Privacy Suit Paused for Mediation

A proposed class action alleging a Pennsylvania Department of Health contractor violated people’s privacy rights as part of its Covid-19 contact tracing efforts has been put on ice as the parties enter into private mediation.

The case is stayed until Sept. 30, and plaintiff Lisa Chapman and Insight Global LLC are required to inform the court of the results of the mediation before that date, Judge Christopher C. Conner wrote in an order filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
