Swalwell’s Exit Ends Meteoric Political Rise
California Rep. Eric Swalwell said he will resign from Congress days after sexual assault allegations prompted him to abandon his campaign for governor, Alicia Diaz reports.
“I am deeply sorry to my family, staff, and constituents for mistakes in judgment I’ve made in my past,” Swalwell said. He vowed to “fight the serious, false allegations made against me,” but said he “must take responsibility and ownership for the mistakes I did make.”
