Winston Taylor has named five new office managing partners as the law firm takes shape after completing its transatlantic merger.

Former Winston & Strawn partners Matthew Graves, Gustavo Membiela, and Grine Lahreche were appointed as office managing partners in Washington, Miami, and Paris, respectively, while Nicholas Usher and Taylor Wessing’s Graham Hann step into newly created leadership roles in London.

“These appointments reflect the strength and depth of our leadership across some of the most important markets driving capital and innovation,” said Winston Taylor Chairman Steve D’Amore in a Wednesday statement.

“Matt, Gus, and Grine are highly respected lawyers who will continue to build on strong foundations in Washington, D.C., Miami, and Paris. In London, Nick and Graham’s complementary experience provides leadership grounded in deep local knowledge, bringing our combined team together to deliver value for our clients,” D’Amore said.

Chicago-founded Winston & Strawn and the UK’s Taylor Wessing officially launched as Winston Taylor on June 1, a combined entity with more than 1,400 lawyers and $1.75 billion in revenue.

Graves is a former federal prosecutor who will lead its Washington office who joined Winston & Strawn in 2025 after spending three years as the United States attorney for the District of Columbia. There he led the Justice Department’s largest investigation into the January 6, 2020 attacks on the Capitol and oversaw the department’s $3.6 billion seizure from the Bitfinex global cryptocurrency exchange hack. At Winston, he succeeds partner David Rogers who led the firm’s office in the nation’s capital since 2018.

Membiela takes over the reins in the Miami office, succeeding M&A partner Enrique Martin. Membiela was a part of a six partner group—along with Martin—that joined Winston & Strawn in 2022 to launch its Miami office. He previously worked at Hunton Andrews Kurth, where he spent nearly two decades building his practice in complex commercial litigation.

Usher, who was the office managing partner of Winston & Strawn’s London office, and Taylor Wessing’s Graham Hann will become co-chairs of the new Winston Taylor London office as it integrates its operations across the pond.

Usher works with corporates and private equity sponsors on UK and cross-border M&A. Hann, the former head of Taylor Wessing’s global technology practice, will also head Winston Taylor’s intellectual property, regulatory and digital group.

In Paris, Grine Lahreche will serve as office managing partner, succeeding Jérôme Herbet. Lahreche joined Winston & Strawn in 2023 along with 10 other lawyers from Hoche Avocats in what was a major play by the Chicago-founded firm to build its M&A, private equity and finance bench in Europe. Lahreche will also serve on the global executive committee for the newly formed Winston Taylor.
