- Paul Weiss reportedly is considering tinkering with the firm’s partner compensation system, including potentially creating a non-equity tier. A move to convert bonus payments to equity shares for the firm’s top-paid partners is also said to be on the table. (The American Lawyer)
- White & Case was the fastest-growing law firm in Africa by employee headcount between 2019-2022, new research shows. The firm grew its Africa staff by 177% in that period to 83, quicker than second-fastest firm, Dentons, which grew its headcount by 86% during that time to 255. (Global Legal Post)
- Former US Supreme Court clerks are finding a new type of path for their post-clerkship careers: litigation finance companies. The field is dynamic and “deeply substantive,” and allows people to look at legal matters from a finance perspective, said Travis Lenkner, a former clerk for SCOTUS Justice Anthony Kennedy. (Law.com)

- Cason Kirby has joined Holland & Knight in the litigation section as a partner in Birmingham, Ala. He previously served at Campbell Partners.
- Gawain Hughes has joined Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman as a partner in London. He previously practiced at Morgan Lewis and led the EMEA funds practice at DLA Piper.
