TrueCare Reaches Agreement to Drop Patient’s Meta Pixel Suit

California health care provider TrueCare has reportedly “settled all claims between” it and a patient who sued over its alleged disclosure of personal health information to Meta Platforms.

Plaintiff Amy Wright plausibly alleged that the Meta Pixel could count as a pen register or trap and trace device under the California Invasion of Privacy Act. It was the only claim from the proposed class action to survive TrueCare’s motion to dismiss in the US District Court for the Southern District of California; Wright chose not to amend the complaint.
