ServiceNow Hires Ex-Microsoft Legal Chief Following Deal Frenzy

ServiceNow Inc. has hired Hossein Nowbar, most recently chief legal officer at Microsoft Corp., to be its president and top lawyer as the software company’s longtime general counsel Russell Elmer transitions to a special counsel role.

Nowbar, who stepped down from Microsoft in September after nearly three decades at the technology giant, joins ServiceNow after it recently extended the contract of its CEO William McDermott through 2030. Nowbar’s new employer clinched more than $12 billion in deals last year, including announcing its largest-ever acquisition last month in cybersecurity startup Armis.
