Quinn Emanuel to Open UAE Offices With Double Hire From Rival

Sept. 25, 2023, 2:23 PM UTC

Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan is set to open two offices in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with a duo of partners from a rival firm.

Quinn Emanuel will open bases in Dubai and Abu Dhabi as part of its latest global expansion, according to a statement today.

It has hired two King & Wood Mallesons partners for the launches. KWM Dubai head Joanne Strain and fellow Dubai based partner Parnika Chaturvedi join the firm, and will split their time between the two new offices depending on client needs, according to a spokesperson for Quinn Emanuel.

Both offices are set to open by early December, according to a person with knowledge of the situation

The launches double its office footprint in the Middle East. Quinn Emanuel currently has bases in Doha and Riyadh, launched in 2017 and 2022 respectively.

The law firm is the latest international player to expand its presence in the region. Earlier in September, US led outfit Greenberg Traurig received its license to operate in the UAE and hired a team from Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner.

King & Wood Mallesons did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
