Nike, StockX Settle NFT, Counterfeiting Lawsuit Ahead of Trial

Nike Inc. settled its lawsuit accusing online sneaker reseller StockX LLC of selling counterfeit Nike shoes and misusing the brand’s trademarks for NFTs.

The parties filed a stipulation of dismissal on Aug. 29, averting a jury trial that was set to begin on Oct. 14 in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. The Manhattan trial would have determined how much StockX owed for selling counterfeits after the court in March ruled the retailer sold 37 pairs of fake Nikes despite claims that the shoes are “100% authentic.”
