The Justice Department has picked Jenner & Block co-managing partner Katya Jestin and Ropes & Gray partner Alex Rene to independently monitor Glencore Plc under terms of the company’s guilty plea for sprawling corporate misconduct.
Jestin will lead a Jenner & Block team assigned to review the global trading company’s market integrity compliance, while Rene—who sits on his firm’s governing policy committee—will build a unit responsible for overseas bribery oversight. Both monitorships are scheduled to last three years, DOJ determined in a Glencore resolution reached 13 months ago.
