Eminem Publisher Drops Bid to Revive Spotify Copyright Suit

Rapper Eminem’s publisher Eight Mile Style LLC agreed to drop its appeal of the dismissal of its copyright suit against music streamer Spotify USA Inc.

The US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit Thursday granted the parties’ joint stipulation asking it to dismiss the appeal.

A Tennessee federal judge granted summary judgment in August 2024, finding it “close to unthinkable” that Eight Mile Style didn’t know of the alleged infringement for several years without acting, and no plausible explanation other than opportunistic litigation delay to enhance damages.
