Eminem Publisher Appeals Spotify’s Win Over Copyright Dispute

Rapper Eminem’s publisher will appeal the dismissal of his copyright suit against streaming service Spotify Technology SA to the Sixth Circuit.

Eight Mile Style LLC hopes to reverse aa federal judge’s ruling that the lawsuit was a “strategic choice” by the plaintiff to manufacture damages at the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Eight Mile Style, a “sophisticated actor,” was aware Spotify was probably infringing but declined to investigate to allow the harm to continue, the US District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee said.
