Beyond Meat, Rival Clash Before Jury Over Plant-Based Tagline

A trademark fight over Beyond Meat’s tagline “Great Taste, Plant-Based” went to a federal jury after a competitor said a marketing blitz involving Dunkin’ Donuts left “no oxygen” for its long-registered slogan.

“They flooded the market” in storefronts and online, including a Dunkin’ ad featuring Snoop Dogg, the jury heard from Ben Wagner of Troutman Pepper Locke LLP, who represents the meat alternative rival Sonate Corp., also known as Vegadelphia Foods.
