American Airlines Lands Latham Dealmaker for New Legal Chief

American Airlines Group Inc. said Wednesday that Anthony “Tony” Richmond, a capital markets lawyer who has been outside counsel to the carrier, would be its new chief legal officer and executive vice president of corporate affairs.

Richmond moves into a C-suite position vacated by Priya Aiyar, who left the company earlier this year to run the law department at Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. Richmond, who has worked in private practice at Latham & Watkins LLP since 1996, will join American on May 5 and report to CEO Robert Isom.
