Amazon Defeats Female Executive’s Appeal in Sex, Pay Bias Suit

A female Amazon executive’s bid to revive her discrimination and equal pay lawsuit was rejected by the Ninth Circuit, which agreed with a lower court that her allegations fell short.

Cindy Warner asserted a male coworker was treated more favorably but didn’t include facts connecting the favoritism to a gender-based animus by a supervisor, the unpublished opinion said, affirming the dismissal of Warner’s failure-to-promote and discriminatory termination claims against Amazon.com Inc., Amazon Web Services Inc., and supervisor Todd Weatherby.
