Christine DeBiase will join Allstate Corporation as chief legal officer, executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary on Jan. 3, 2023, the company said Tuesday.

DeBiase will lead law and regulation as well as Allstate’s sustainability strategy, according to the company. She replaces Rhonda Ferguson, the company’s former top lawyer, who passed away in April after battling cancer.

She joins from Brighthouse Financial Inc. where she served as executive vice president, chief administrative officer, and general counsel. She was responsible for legal, compliance, corporate governance and sustainability initiatives, Allstate said.
