Rubie’s Costume Company Inc. received bankruptcy court approval for interim access to about $17 million in cash reserves and its request to pay critical vendors as it gears up to fulfill customer orders.
The costume designer and seller, which filed for Chapter 11 last month at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York, can use cash on hand to pay manufacturers for orders ahead of the 2020 Halloween season, Judge Alan S. Trust ruled during a telephonic hearing Tuesday.
