CFPB MoneyGram Suit Stayed While High Court Weighs Funding Case

A federal judge put on hold a lawsuit the CFPB and New York attorney general’s office brought against MoneyGram International Inc. until the Supreme Court decides whether to take up a case challenging the constitutionality of the agency’s funding.

Judge Katherine Polk Failla of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York on Friday said the issues pending before the Supreme Court would have a direct impact on the MoneyGram case.
