The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau must continue to seek funding from the Federal Reserve after a federal judge determined the Trump administration was engaged in a “transparent attempt” to shut the agency down.

The Friday ruling from Judge Edward J. Davila of the US District Court for the Northern District of California marks the second time acting CFPB Director Russell Vought has been hit with an order requiring him to keep funding the federal consumer finance watchdog.
