HUD Ordered to Show Plan for Issuing New Fair Housing Grants (1)

The Trump administration must provide a detailed plan to issue new grants appropriated by Congress for private enforcement of fair housing laws ahead of a Sept. 30 deadline.

“Based on the current record, there does not appear to be sufficient time for HUD to take the necessary steps between now and September 30, 2025, to award funds in compliance with the statutes,” Judge Sparkle L. Sooknanan of the US District Court for the District of Columbia, said in a Monday opinion.
