Crypto Market Structure Bill to Get Senate Panel Vote Next Week

A key Senate committee will vote on a bill establishing a market structure for cryptocurrencies next week, advancing highly anticipated legislation to grant regulatory clarity to digital assets.

The Senate Banking Committee will vote on Jan. 15 on legislation establishing a regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies, a spokesman for the panel’s chair, Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), confirmed Tuesday.

The move marks the most concrete step to date in the Senate’s pursuit of cryptocurrency legislation since the enactment of federal rules governing stablecoins last summer (Public Law 119-27).
