Online lender Enova International Inc. agreed to a $15 million settlement with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for violating the terms of an earlier settlement, including by withdrawing funds from customer accounts without permission.
The CFPB previously fined Chicago-based Enova $3.2 million as part of a 2019 consent order for a series of compliance violations. Along with improperly withdrawing funds from customer accounts, the CFPB alleged at the time that Enova made deceptive statements about loans and improperly canceled loan extensions issued to customers.
