World Aquatics Reaches $4.6 Million Antitrust Deal With Swimmers

Switzerland-based World Aquatics has agreed to pay more than $4.6 million in damages as part of a settlement with Olympic gold medalist Tom Shields and other top swimmers, putting to rest an antitrust case brought against the organization seven years ago.

The proposed settlement, and the swimmers’ request for preliminary approval of its terms, were filed Sept. 5 in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
