Volkswagen Unit Gets Antitrust Claims Dismissed in Car Data Suit

A unit of Volkswagen AG convinced a federal judge to toss antitrust claims alleging the German car manufacturer holds monopoly power over vehicle data processing and storage services.

Judge Jon Tigar of the US District Court for the Northern District of California in a Wednesday opinion granted Volkswagen Group of America Inc.'s motion to dismiss allegations from software company Smartcar Inc., which were filed as counterclaims in the Volkswagen unit’s own suit against the software company.
