NCAA Gets Final Approval of $303 Million Settlement With Coaches

The NCAA won final court approval of a $303 million class action settlement in an antitrust case brought on behalf of Division I volunteer coaches.

The case alleged that binding NCAA rules unlawfully restricted Division I schools to a limited number of paid coaching positions in most sports, forcing any additional coaches to forego salaries for the sake of their career aspirations and love of their games. The settlement, agreed to by the parties last year, covers thousands of coaches who worked for NCAA Division I sports programs other than baseball between March 17, 2019 and June 30, 2023.
