A group of cases accusing MultiPlan Inc. of colluding with other health insurance companies to suppress out-of-network reimbursements to health-care providers will be moved to Illinois, a judicial panel ruled.
The suits, pending in federal courts including New York, Illinois, and California, will be transferred to the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois for pretrial proceedings, the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation said. They are being consolidated as federal enforcers increase efforts to detect collusion in the health-care industry.
